Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Geriatric Psychiatric (Gero Psych) unit position requiring at least 2 years of experience including behavioral health and acute or long-term care, with 12-hour night shifts.
Details
- Work on a 26-bed Gero Psych unit within a 131-bed Level III Trauma Center
- Patient population presents with psychiatric diagnoses and medical comorbidities, requiring strong medical skills and clinical assessment
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation is typically every other weekend, with Friday–Saturday considered the weekend for night shift
- Patient ratios are 1:7 or 1:8 on days and 1:10–12 on nights, with MHT and LPN support on the unit
- Floating may be required to Adult Psych or Transgender Adolescent Psych units
- No on-call responsibilities
- EMR: Epic (experience preferred, not required)
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Current CPI or MOAB certification required
- Minimum 2 years of total experience, including at least 1 year in behavioral health and 1 year in acute or long-term care
- Two professional references from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or equivalent) required prior to start; one reference acceptable at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Provide psychiatric and medical nursing care to a geriatric population with complex comorbidities
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable, provided they do not display offensive words or images
