Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Psychiatric/Behavioral Health RN for a 13-week travel contract in West Virginia, working 3x12-hour day shifts with every other weekend required.
Details
- Behavioral Health/Psychiatric unit in an inpatient hospital setting
- Adult patient population, including forensic cases
- Patient ratios: 1:8 for adolescents and 1:15–20 for adults/forensic depending on the unit
- Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM), weekdays plus every other weekend
- EMR: Avatar
- 13-week contract with possibility of extension
Requirements
- Active WV or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) — CPI and First Aid may be obtained during orientation
- Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health/Psychiatric RN experience required
- Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- At least 3 manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Travelers fill in for shifts not covered by regular staff; blocked schedule requests cannot be accommodated
- Holiday RTO requests are limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
- Navy or royal blue scrubs are provided
- If absent for 3 or more consecutive days due to illness or injury, a doctor's verification and medical clearance note must be provided to the manager prior to returning to work
- West Virginia state law requires fingerprinting to be completed in-state at least 7–10 business days before the start date; candidates must plan to arrive in WV early to complete this requirement, as results can take 5–7 days and clearance is required before beginning the assignment
