Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Behavioral Health night shift position requiring 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience and a valid Iowa or compact RN license.
Details
- Inpatient Behavioral Health unit in a regional hospital setting
- Adult psychiatric patient population, ages 18–65, presenting with anxiety, depression, manic disorders, borderline personality disorder, and suicidal ideation
- 14-bed unit with an average daily census of approximately 7 patients
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- May be required to float within a 25-mile radius of the facility
- EMR: Meditech
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Iowa RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- AHA certifications required (BLS at minimum; provide copies of all applicable certifications)
- ADN or BSN required
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient behavioral health or psychiatric unit experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Iowa SING background check (criminal and child abuse portions) required prior to start — no instant or statewide searches accepted
- All county and state background checks must be fully cleared prior to start date
- Mandatory reporter certification required for both child and adult
- 10-panel drug screening including opiates required
- Titers required within the last 12 months: MMR, Hep B, Varicella, and TB
- Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates may not be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
