Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at a short-term acute care teaching hospital in Winter Haven, FL, requiring ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications with on-call responsibilities.
Details
- Work in the PACU of a 447-bed short-term acute care teaching hospital
- Patient population includes surgical outpatients and inpatients, as well as interventional radiology (IR) procedure patients
- Provides post-op care for general surgical procedures and IR patients
- Patient ratio is 1:2
- Specialized equipment includes Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Dopplers
- Charting performed in Cerner
- Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts with variable start times between 9:00–10:00 AM and end times between 7:30–8:30 PM
- On-call required one night per week and every third weekend (days and nights)
- Scheduling is based on facility need with no blocked scheduling accommodations
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
Requirements
- Active FL RN license or compact RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required; first-time travelers with prior ICU experience will be considered
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- State Board of Nursing License Verification and NURSYS Verification required for consideration
