Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a rural Kentucky hospital, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and on-call availability across a broad range of surgical specialties.
Details
- Small rural OR environment with 3 operating rooms
- Surgical specialties include orthopedics, spine, OB/GYN, vascular, general surgery, GI endoscopy, podiatry, ENT, total joints, and amputations
- Approximately 2-3 spine cases performed per month
- C-sections performed in the OR
- Vascular surgeries including carotid procedures are part of the caseload
- 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- On-call is required
- Charting is performed in Epic
Requirements
- Active KY RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in the OR
- Current BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience preferred given its use in this setting
- COVID-19 vaccination required (two doses) or approved declination on file
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers — no radius rule applies
- Former permanent employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 90 days before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not explicitly welcomed — prior travel or strong OR experience is recommended given the acuity and on-call demands
