Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR/PACU RN for a 13-week hospital assignment in Nebraska, requiring active NE or compact licensure and OR circulating and scrub experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting
- Covers OR circulating, scrub nurse, and PACU nursing duties
- Assists the operating practitioner and CRNA during surgical procedures
- Participates in sterile processing, endoscopy assistance, case set-up, stocking, and instrument sterilization
- Monday–Friday schedule, 40 hours per week
- On-call required 4 nights per month and every 5th weekend
- Included in holiday call rotation
Requirements
- Active RN license in Nebraska or a compact state license currently in hand
- BSN, ADN, or diploma from an accredited nursing program required
- Current BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications required
- PALS, NRP, and ATT certifications required
- Prior OR circulating and scrub nursing experience required
- Ability to frequently lift up to 40 lbs and occasionally lift over 100 lbs
- Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception vision abilities required
Additional Information
- Performs comprehensive patient assessment across all age groups and administers medications per the Five Rights of Medication Administration
- Responsible for patient and family education tailored to age and learning ability
- Works near moving mechanical parts with frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock; occasional exposure to caustic chemicals
- High classification (I) risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens
- Reports directly to the Supervisor of Surgical Services
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position
