Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for an outpatient ambulatory surgery center (ASC) position requiring multi-specialty scrubbing ability and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.

Details

• Work setting is an outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) with 4 OR suites
• Multi-specialty caseload including Orthopedics, ENT, GI, Urology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Plastics, and occasional Spine
• Averages 15–30 cases per day (approximately 20)
• Scrubbing is required; candidates should be able to scrub all specialties
• Shift schedule is days, with hours varying between 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, and 8:00 AM–4:30 PM based on staffing needs
• 13-week contract with three 12-hour shifts per week
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements, except for every-other-Friday night call with a 30-minute response time
• Floating to PACU or Pre/Post-op areas is expected as needed
• Charting is done in MEDITECH

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Experience across all surgical specialties is required
• BSN is not required
• Candidates who have worked in a permanent capacity at Hancock Health within the last 6 months are not eligible

Additional Information

• This is a fast-paced ASC environment requiring self-motivation and strong teamwork skills
• Charge Nurse and House Supervisor support is available 24/7; travelers are expected to take a charge assignment once oriented to the facility
• Scrubs are facility-provided and are a single color worn by all staff regardless of specialty
• Orientation is typically 2 days, with up to 1 week available if needed
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
