Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an OB/Newborn Nursery night shift position in Georgia, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a minimum of 2 completed travel assignments.
Details
- Obstetrics/Gynecology unit within a Women's Pavilion setting, 20-bed unit
- Scope of care includes well couplets, GYN patients, and occasional float to nursery for well baby holds and transition nursing
- Patient ratio is 1:3 for couplet care, or up to 5 patients per nurse when not in couplet care
- Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Call required: 2 x 12-hour on-call shifts per 6-week schedule, with at least 1 required on a weekend
- Floating required between departments within the Women's Pavilion
- EMR: CPN (GE) and Cerner — Cerner experience preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia (GA) or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS and NRP — no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
- Minimum 2 years of recent OB/Newborn Nursery experience required
- At least 2 previously completed travel assignments required
- STABLE and CPN experience preferred
- Valid U.S. Driver's License required for consideration
- U.S. Social Security Number required for consideration
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provides shift accountability for newborn nursery patients during the immediate neonatal phase, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
- Demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe patient care
- Delegates patient care priorities based on staff education and experience, and provides direction and supervision to assigned personnel
- Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education
- Navy scrubs required
- RTO requests must be less than 1 week in duration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
- Blocked scheduling may be approved as long as weekend requirements are met
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
