Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg & Cardiology position at a 595-bed accredited hospital in Birmingham, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent experience and an AL or compact RN license in good standing.

- Day shift position with hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM on a 3x12 schedule (36 hours/week)
- Located on a 30-bed Med/Surg & Cardiology unit (2 West)
- Patient population includes pre- and post-heart cath, general cardiology (chest pain, hypertension), and general med/surg patients
- Patient ratio is 1:6
- Standard acute care equipment in use
- Charting is performed in Cerner EMR
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Travelers are first to float, including to like units and facilities within a 25-mile radius
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active AL RN license or compact RN license in good standing (no hits on license accepted)
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required — AHA-issued only; American Red Cross is not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in med/surg required; cardiology experience preferred
- Acute care skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- SSN and DOB required for consideration

- Navy scrubs are required
- All certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of the assignment start date; proof of enrollment in a renewal class may be accepted as a placeholder
