Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined Med-Surg/ER unit position requiring ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications with day/night rotating shifts.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with a combined Med-Surg/ER unit
- Small unit with up to 12 beds and an average census of 3-6 patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5, utilizing a team nursing model with close collaboration between floor and charge nurses
- Higher volume of swing bed patients, with an average of 1-2 patients requiring more intensive care per shift
- 12-hour shifts rotating between days and nights (6:30 AM–7:00 PM day shift)
- Every 3rd weekend required (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
- Holiday rotation based on assigned weekend rotation schedule
- Charting via MEDITECH EMR
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active IA RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting EKG strips required
- BSN not required
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across a combined Med-Surg and ER patient population
- Navy blue scrubs required; fleece is not permitted, but a similar outer shell jacket (e.g., North Face) is acceptable
- Holidays are rotated with permanent staff based on the assigned weekend rotation schedule
