Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg PCU night shift position at a critical access hospital in Vermont, requiring at least 5 years of experience and the ability to perform charge nurse duties.
Details
- Work setting is a critical access hospital with 25 beds
- Combined Med/Surg, PCU, and telemetry unit
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7a
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Floating to other units required based on need
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active VT or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
- Critical access hospital, PCU, or telemetry Med/Surg experience required
- Ability to work independently and perform charge nurse duties required
Additional Information
- Candidate must attend department quarterly education sessions
- Personal transportation is strongly recommended, as public transportation in the area is very limited
- The hospital is located in Newport, VT, a small town on the Canadian border in the Northeast Kingdom region, known for outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position
