Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Petoskey, MI, requiring 2 years of straight Med/Surg experience and Level I or II trauma experience.
Details
- 60-bed Medical Surgical unit with mixed acuity and diverse patient populations
- Patient population includes post-surgical cases, diverse medical conditions, traumas, strokes, and inpatient hospice patients
- Fast-paced environment with exposure to a broad range of clinical cases and learning opportunities
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required; LARA and Nursys verification required
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of straight Med/Surg RN experience required — float, SDU, or telemetry experience does not qualify
- Level I or II trauma experience required
- Skills checklist completed within one year of application required
- Travel nursing experience preferred

- Care is guided by the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and the 'Caring-Quality Model,' emphasizing evidence-based and holistic patient care
- Unit has an active Shared Governance (Unit Based Council) that promotes teamwork and a healthy work environment
- New team members receive orientation support as they grow in their professional nursing practice
- The facility enforces a strict 3-strike attendance policy — three instances of absence or tardiness of more than 20 minutes may result in immediate termination (exceptions apply for communicable illness or hospitalization with supporting documentation)
- No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested during the contract
- Current full-time employees of McLaren are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment
