Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level II Trauma hospital in Marquette, MI, requiring 2 years of experience and night shift availability.
Details
- Work on the 6th floor Medical/Surgical unit of a 225-bed specialty care hospital
- Level II Trauma Center offering a wide range of specialty services including Heart & Vascular, Cancer Care, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Bariatric Medicine, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
- Adult and geriatric patient population (ages 18 )
- Patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Rotating weekend requirements
- Occasional floating to similar units required
- Equipment includes telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
- EMR: Cerner
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Active AHA certifications required, including BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Medical/Surgical unit experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree required; BSN preferred
- Must possess critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- 13-week contract
- Orientation is held bi-weekly
- Galaxy Blue scrubs required; Navy is also acceptable
- Fingernails must be kept clean and at a reasonable length per the Hand Hygiene Policy; excessive jewelry is not permitted; tattoos that may be considered offensive must be covered
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
- Hospital is located in Marquette, MI — the largest community in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and home to Northern Michigan University
