Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring Epic proficiency and remote telemetry experience with adult to geriatric patients.
Details
- Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit with 33 beds and an average daily census of 28
- Adult to geriatric patient population with diagnoses including diabetes, post-op, wound vacs, and bariatrics, with remote telemetry monitoring
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- Navy blue scrubs required
- RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one)
- No alternate shifts or special scheduling requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm
- Travelers must have been away from all facilities in this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration
