Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Hematology/Oncology/Infusion Clinic position in Boston, MA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of hemo/onc/infusion experience and active BLS and Biotherapy/Chemotherapy certifications.
Details
- Outpatient hematology/oncology clinic with a dedicated infusion suite
- Clinic operates with 35 bays and beds at an average patient ratio of 1:6
- Busy clinical environment involving infusion, triage, and phlebotomy
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (40 hrs/week) with no set day off
- No weekend or major holiday shifts required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS and Biotherapy/Chemotherapy (Bio/Chemo) Certification
- Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hematology/oncology and infusion nursing, including triage and phlebotomy
- Experience with IV and port placement required
- Experience administering chemotherapy agents required
- Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (A or B) — the test may only be taken twice
- Valid, non-expired driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not a supervisor), one must be within the last 12 months, and the other within the last 3 years; references from other travelers are not accepted
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy agents, managing infusion therapy, performing triage and phlebotomy, and IV/port access
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interact with patients and families
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be placed at a local pay rate
- One reference from a prior travel or temporary assignment is preferred
