Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology position at a fast-paced academic medical center specializing in bone marrow transplant and CAR-T therapy patients.
Details
- Outpatient clinic setting within an academic medical center serving hematology and oncology patients
- Patient population includes autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplant (BMT) and CAR-T therapy patients
- Rotation through multiple areas including infusion/day hospital, lab/port draw, clinic, and bone marrow biopsy suite
- Shift: Days, 4x9.5-hour shifts (7:00–17:30)
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 12 months of RN experience in hematology oncology; inpatient oncology experience accepted, but outpatient clinic experience accepted only from infusion clinic settings
- Current BLS certification required
- BSN preferred; diploma and Associates degrees from ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing programs also accepted
- 2 professional references at supervisor level or above required for consideration
Additional Information
- Administer and manage chemotherapy and biotherapy, including investigational protocols
- Perform blood, platelet, and fresh frozen plasma transfusions
- Perform port draws, phlebotomy, and central line access and care
- Assist in procedural area for bone marrow biopsy/aspiration with minimal analgesia and recovery monitoring
- Monitor and manage treatment-related toxicities, including neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, and electrolyte abnormalities with repletion
- Candidates must not have been employed by VCU Health within the previous 6 months
- This is a drug, tobacco, and smoke-free campus — smoking is not permitted anywhere on facility grounds
- Natural nail policy is enforced at this facility
