Description
American Traveler is hiring a Chemo Certified RN for an Oncology/Telemetry night shift position in Ventura County, CA, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.
Details
- Oncology unit in an inpatient hospital setting
- Cares for adult and geriatric patients with medical/surgical diagnoses requiring telemetry monitoring and chemotherapy
- Average census of 8 patients with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio on an 8-bed unit
- Patient care includes chemotherapy administration, telemetry monitoring, port access, central line management, PICC line management, hemodialysis pre/post care, blood product administration, PCA management, and cardiac and vasoactive drip management (no titration)
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to Med/Surg required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications required: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, TNCC or TCAR, NIH Stroke Scale, and Chemo Certification
- Chemotherapy administration experience required
- Telemetry experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Skills required include: port access, central line care, PICC line management, peripheral IV placement, heparin protocols, feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis management, blood product administration, and PCA management
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
