Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level III Trauma Center MICU, requiring a minimum of 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience and an active MA RN license.
Details
- 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) at a Level III Trauma Center within a 400 bed community hospital
- Patient population includes adults with diagnoses such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
- RN-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2 in the ICU; ratio adjusts to 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Med/Surg units
- Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours per day
- Day shift positions are rotating — shifts may rotate between 7a–7p, 11a–11p, or 7p–7a; night shift does not rotate
- Every other weekend (EOW) requirement
- Floating to Med/Surg units is required
- 36 hours per week

- Free on-site parking available
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
- BLS certification required — AHA only (Red Cross not accepted at this facility)
- ACLS certification required — AHA only (Red Cross not accepted at this facility)
- Minimum 2 years of continuous adult MICU experience required, preferably at a single location
- Telemetry strip reading competency required
- Epic EMR experience
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Flu vaccine is required; no religious or medical exemptions are permitted
- Floating is primarily to Medical/Surgical units and may involve up to 4–5 patients
- Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply
- RTO requests must be disclosed at the time of consideration
- Time and attendance tracked via UKG/Kronos
