Description
American Traveler is seeking a licensed RN for an Acute Dialysis travel position working 12-hour day shifts on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule, requiring a minimum of 9 months of clinical nursing experience with dialysis exposure.
Details
- Acute dialysis unit in a hospital setting
- Hemodialysis patient population
- Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week — Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 3:00 AM–3:30 PM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- Minimum of 9 months of clinical nursing experience required
- At least 3 months of specialized dialysis care experience in a chronic or acute setting required (may be completed during orientation)
- Two-year nursing degree required; four-year degree preferred
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assessment of hemodialysis patients and development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans
- Administers, monitors, and documents therapeutic interventions and treatment regimens
- Manages rapidly changing patient conditions, including delegating care to other department members
- Assists providers with patient-related needs before, during, and after hemodialysis treatments
- Coordinates triage and arrangement of additional care at outside facilities as needed
- Obtains lab specimens and performs lab competencies and quality controls on a regular basis
- Educates patients and family members on disease processes, individual care needs, and safety
- Participates in daily huddles and monthly meetings, contributing to clinical decision-making
