Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and comfort treating both adult and pediatric ICU patients.
Details
- Short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital setting with 733 staffed beds
- Respiratory therapy/CRT unit with adult and pediatric ICU patient population
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 6:00
- Weekend requirement every other weekend
- Holiday coverage required
- Float within scope to other like units or sister campus as needed
- No on-call requirement
- Epic EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required
- State or compact RRT/CRT licensure required (license required if applicable)
- Pending license not accepted
- Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients
- At least 1 supervisor reference required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory and neuro diagnostics care within the CRT unit
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be considered for travel rates
- Maximum of 4 days RTO permitted, with only 1 holiday approval
- Call-off policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week assignment before guaranteed hours are affected; missed scheduled shifts require makeup shifts as determined by the department
- Solid black or black and white scrubs required
- Night shift assignments may be extended up to twice, after which a 6-month break is required before reapplying as a traveler
- Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- System maintains a 2-contract limit with one allowed extension before requiring a 6-month break to return
- Block scheduling is not accommodated
