American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatrics Float Pool position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple children's acute care units on a night shift schedule.
Details- Hospital-based pediatrics float pool position covering multiple children's acute care units
- Float assignments include surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hematology/oncology, step-down, and cardiac pediatrics units
- May float to NICU, but only for feeder-grower, low-acuity patients — not traditional NICU assignments
- Patient population ranges from simple to complex pediatric cases
- Night shift schedule, 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
- 13-week contract
- Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen, and infusion required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Basic computer skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Date of birth required for consideration
- Responsible for an assigned group of pediatric patients, including documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
- Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitors and responds to physiological changes in patients
- Communicates care plans and discharge instructions to patients and families, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 cumulative weeks before being eligible for a new contract
- Compliance onboarding (drug screens, background checks, and medical requirements) must be initiated promptly after accepting an offer — start dates will not be adjusted for compliance delays
