American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring Level 1-2 trauma experience and proficiency with complex post-surgical patients on night shifts.
Details- Acute Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
- Heavy trauma and GI post-operative patient population
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Telemetry monitoring experience required for this unit
- Active KY or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Telemetry
- Level 1–2 trauma experience required; first-time travelers with Level 1 trauma experience may be considered
- Trauma and general surgery post-operative experience required
- Experience with abdominal surgeries required
- Experience with tracheostomies (trachs) required
- Proficiency with Foley catheters, surgical drains, wound vacs, ostomies, ports, and PICCs required
- Experience with TPN and lipid administration required
- Surgical oncology experience required
- 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
- RN license must be free of any licensure hits
- First-time travelers with Level 1 trauma experience are welcome to apply
- Candidates whose permanent residence is within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; RTO requests submitted after consideration will not be approved
- 13-week contract (approximately 14 weeks in duration)
