American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Smyrna, TN, requiring post-cath care experience including TR band management on a 13-week night shift contract.
Details- Hospital PCU setting with a 12-bed unit
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Unit support includes one tech for the unit
- Patient population includes post-cath care and advanced pulmonary cases requiring medication titration and TR band management
- Equipment used includes GE monitors, Nova glucometers, and Pyxis medication dispensing
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating is required in rotation with full-time staff and other travelers
- Active RN license — TN or Compact license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for PCU RNs
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience required
- Experience with post-cath care including TR band management required
- Experience with advanced pulmonary treatments and medication titration required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- Responsibilities include post-cath patient care, TR band management, advanced pulmonary treatments, and medication titration
- Patient experience standards include AIDET communication, completion of communication boards, and medication teaching
- Charcoal gray scrubs required
- This is a Trauma Level III facility
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
