American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I Trauma Center in West Virginia, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and Epic proficiency.
Details- Work setting is an acute care hospital OR environment, specifically a 10-suite ambulatory/day surgery unit (2 West) operating within a Level I Trauma Center
- Specialty case mix includes ENT, ophthalmology, ortho (sports medicine, shoulder/knee/hip revisions, podiatry, hands), GYN (laparoscopic and open), and urology — no robotics cases on this unit
- High-volume unit averaging 80–120 cases per day with fast-paced turnover
- Outpatient/ambulatory surgical cases; candidates with strong ambulatory OR experience are well-suited for this unit
- Day shift, four 10-hour shifts per week (4x10s) for optimal block coverage
- On-call is required for this position
- Charting is done in Epic
- Active WV RN license or compact RN license (facility is willing to wait for licensure)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
- Two professional references required: one supervisor reference and one peer or additional supervisor reference (if permanent employment within the last 12 months, one reference must be from that employer)
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration
- Scrubs are provided for OR staff
- Orientation runs on a biweekly schedule
- Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before returning
- Travelers who have worked within the WVU system for a cumulative total of one year must also take a 2-year break before reapplying
