American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 12-week travel assignment at a Level 3 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 5 years of acute care OR experience and an active SC or Compact RN license.
Details- Work setting is a 276-bed hospital with a 12-room Operating Room
- Day shift schedule of 4x10s, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-call is required, including 2 call shifts until 11:00 PM per week and every 3rd–4th weekend
- Weekend requirements include every 3rd to 4th weekend
- No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
- Charts using Epic EMR
- Hospital-provided scrubs
- Active SC or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be active prior to start
- Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum of 5 years of acute care OR experience required, with a well-rounded background across general, neuro, ortho, ENT, and GYN
- Level 3 trauma center experience required
- A radiation badge must be provided by the candidate or agency — the facility does not supply radiation badges to travelers
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- First-time travelers will be considered if they demonstrate a broad scope of OR specialty competency
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
- Pre-start online modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
