American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level III NICU position in Ohio, requiring NRP certification and proficiency with ventilator management and neonatal care.
Details- Level III NICU setting within a large academic medical center
- Cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above, including those under 24-28 weeks
- Patient population includes neonates with respiratory distress, glucose management issues, cardiovascular conditions, GI conditions, infectious disease, and those requiring surgical or cardiac intervention
- Utilizes Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Active OH or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Prior experience in Level III and/or Level IV NICU settings required
- Proficiency with ventilator management including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP
- Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and umbilical artery/vein catheter management
- Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Proficiency in GI feeding methods and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
- Experience with IV vasopressor, surfactant, and steroid administration
- Expertise in infection control measures and IV therapy
- Responsibilities include neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions and care for surgical/cardiac patients transferred from the main campus
- SBAR communication method is used for interaction with healthcare providers and families
- Multidisciplinary team includes NPs, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, interpretation services, and unit secretaries
- Candidates with prior experience at Nationwide Children's Hospital will be given special consideration
- No break between assignments is required when changing representation at this facility
- All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
