American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Neuro unit position requiring BLS and NIHSS certifications, with experience caring for CVA/TIA and stroke patients.

• Medical Surgical Neuro unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes CVA/TIA, seizures, encephalopathy, weakness, and rule-out stroke cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month required
• Floating is required
• EMR: Cerner | Medication System: Omnicell

• Active RN license — Tennessee (TN) or Compact license required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Preferred certification: ACLS (AHA)
• Must be able to pass an EKG competency test prior to start date
• Prior Med/Surg Neuro experience required

• Provide nursing care to a busy neurological patient population on a Medical Surgical unit
• RTO will not be accommodated during the following holidays or holiday periods: Valentine's Day, Local Spring Break, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Local Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day
• Travelers may discuss holiday RTO directly with the manager after arriving onsite
• Orientation is bi-weekly
• Local candidates are accepted
