American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in an acute care Women's Center, requiring Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.
Details- Acute care Women's Center serving L&D, Mother/Baby, and Postpartum (L&D/MB/PP) patients
- Unit includes 12 L&D beds, 1 OR suite, 1 triage bed, and 4 postpartum beds, with approximately 80–100 births per year
- Common patient diagnoses include gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, and preeclampsia
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- RNs are required to titrate drips; common drips include oxytocin, insulin, and epidural
- GE Centricity EFM system used for electronic fetal monitoring; telemetry is available and RNs read strips
- Epic EMR used for charting
- OB techs are present on the unit; charge nurse and house supervisor support available
- RT equipment on unit includes CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators
- 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a), with weekends scheduled as needed
- Every other weekend requirement
- Call/standby requirement of 3–4 shifts per 6-week schedule, with a 30-minute response time if called in
- Holiday coverage required for either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
- No floating required
- Active WV or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
- Proficiency in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care required
- Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines required
- Basic fetal monitoring skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Valid, unexpired driver's license required for consideration
- Ability to circulate and recover cesarean sections is preferred
- Scrubs are provided by the facility — no need to bring your own
- Orientation is provided intradepartmentally
- Any licensing hits must be disclosed upfront
