American Traveler is hiring a Special Procedures Technologist with an IR background, ARRT (R) certification, and at least 1 year of Special Procedures/Vascular IR experience for a 13-week contract in Charleston, SC.
Details- Radiology Special Procedures department in an acute care hospital setting
- Patient population includes those requiring interventional radiology and special procedures imaging
- Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
- On-call requirement of one day per week and every 4th weekend
- Occasional float coverage, including to a nearby sister hospital
- Charting in Cerner
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Special Procedures or Vascular Interventional Radiology, or 2 years as a Radiologic Technologist
- Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Professionals program
- ARRT Radiography (R) certification required
- South Carolina Radiation Quality Standard Association (SCRQSA) Radiographer Certification required; active SC or compact license required if applicable
- BLS through the American Heart Association required
- Completion of an ARRT-accredited Vascular Interventional Radiology program and ARRT VI certification preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Perform special procedures and interventional radiology exams under the medical supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols
- Assist radiologists during procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists as assigned
- Responsible for patient safety and age-appropriate care throughout imaging procedures, including obtaining correct orders, preparing patients, and assisting with informed consent
- Practice radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles and comply with DHEC, TJC, and other governing organization standards
- Maintain accurate records and communicate procedure information to radiologists and clinical staff in both verbal and written formats
- Travelers who have been on assignment at this facility must take a 30–60 day break after reaching one continuous year before returning to a new assignment
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
