American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for an 8-week travel contract at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active Cerner proficiency.

• Heavy medical ICU setting within a 174-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Patient population includes medical ICU, some surgical patients (primarily GI and carotid cases), and cardiac cath lab admissions from a very active 24/7 Cath Lab
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Weekend requirement: yes, varies/flexible
• Floating required within scope to AAU and MS units, as well as potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
• Parking is complimentary

• Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or RQI accepted); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Proficiency in Cerner EMR required
• Demonstrated competency in: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multi-system organ failure, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention care, IV insulin protocols, GI and carotid surgical patient care, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management (including HFNC and vent weaning), ABG interpretation, suctioning, and infection prevention/isolation/PPE protocols
• RN degree from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• Two supervisor references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are not eligible for this position
• Candidates who are current or former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month separation before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a designated consecutive break to reset travel eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, and in-state residents require a 180-day break
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Required scrub colors: red top, black bottoms
