American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and multiple certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of an academic hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Every other or every third weekend required
- Patient ratio of 1:3.5
- Clinical scope includes triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma, psychiatric holds, and pediatric emergency care
- Uses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
- Floating required
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility preferred
- Active OH or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
- 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference — no coworker references accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- 36 hours of orientation provided
- Navy scrubs required
- All candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after accepting a position — candidates outside of Ohio may need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet upon receipt
- Former employees of the facility are eligible after a 6-month separation period
- Any requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the duration of the contract
- Parking is available for agency staff on-site, with multiple permit options ranging from a guaranteed garage permit to more affordable surface lot and shuttle-based options — details provided upon placement
