American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-volume Emergency Department position requiring TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications, with Epic proficiency and trauma center experience strongly preferred.

• 32-bed ED with recliner chairs and the ability to flex up to 10 hallway beds
• Extremely high-volume unit serving all ages with a wide range of medical complaints including daily trauma (MVAs, mass casualties, GSWs, stabbings), stroke alerts, STEMIs, behavioral holds, and pediatric holds awaiting transfer
• Located near 3 major highways and in proximity to correctional facilities, resulting in a diverse and complex patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4–5
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required; one major holiday required
• Epic EHR used; proficiency within the last year very strongly preferred
• Equipment includes Alaris pumps, Panda warmers, Hamilton ventilators, Autopulse, GlideScope, AmbuScope, ultrasound, EKG machine, bladder scanner, cast cutter, Philips monitoring, and Omnicell

• Active RN license — VA state license or a Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• CPI De-escalation Training certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience in a large ED or trauma center strongly preferred
• Epic EHR proficiency within the last year very strongly preferred
• Copy of nursing diploma required for consideration
• Proof of address and full SSN and DOB (MM/DD) required for consideration
• 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments, develops and implements individualized care plans, and evaluates treatment effectiveness in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Serves as a point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments and collaborates with outside agencies including EMS, law enforcement, crisis services, and transfer centers
• Administers medications safely and in accordance with state and facility policies
• Shift support includes 2–5 techs per shift, a unit secretary, and potential LPN support per RN zone
• Must pass an EKG exam during orientation — two attempts allowed, and a study guide will be provided
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Interview process is conducted via ITO (interview-to-offer) format
