American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Indiana, requiring a minimum of 18 months of OR experience and the ability to scrub cardiovascular cases including heart and lung transplants and ECMO.
Details- Position is based in a short-term acute care hospital CVOR unit with 24 OR rooms and an average daily census of 70–80
- Cardiovascular cases include heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO
- Scrubbing CV cases is required
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- On-call required: approximately 100 hours per 6-week period, including one call weekend per 6 weeks (Friday evening through Monday morning)
- Floating required to other OR specialties and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby
- Charting is performed in Cerner (experience required)
- Free parking available on-site
- Active IN or Compact RN license required; a temporary IN license in hand prior to start date is also acceptable
- Minimum 18 months to 2 years of CVOR/OR RN experience required
- Current BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Level I Trauma experience preferred; first-time travelers without it may be subject to additional screening
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required
- First-time travelers are accepted, particularly those with Level I Trauma experience
- Local Indiana residents are accepted for this Periop/OR position
- Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Former permanent or PRN employees of the health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- RTO of 5 days or fewer may be auto-approved
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved per contract
