American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience, ACLS certification, and an active FL or compact RN license.
Details- CVICU setting within a hospital environment
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Every other weekend required, or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period based on unit needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating is required to all four affiliated hospitals (Cape Canaveral, Palm Bay, and Viera locations in addition to home base facility)
- Interfacility floating for critical staffing needs is rare but possible; float assignments prioritize ICU-to-ICU before PCU
- Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit need and manager approval prior to offer
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Active FL state or compact RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of ICU RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Prior Neuro ICU or SICU experience required
- 2 professional references from authority figures (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) from within the past year required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required between 10/31–3/31; medical or religious exemptions accepted
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Candidates who have previously held an internal contracted position must wait at least 1 year after separation before being eligible
- As this facility is located in a hurricane zone, travelers are required to work pre- and post-storm shifts during hurricane season (beginning in May)
- Holiday coverage is required — candidates must be available to work one of the following: Memorial Day or 4th of July
- All time-off requests must be finalized and submitted upfront; RTO will not be accepted after an offer is made
- Time and attendance tracked via Kronos using a badge swipe system
- Scrubs must be any solid color with matching tops and bottoms; no logos, prints, or mixed colors
- Free parking is provided with a decal issued at orientation
