American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CCU/CVICU position at a university hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active MO or Compact RN licensure.
Details- 18-bed CICU/CVICU at an academic university hospital
- Highest-acuity cardiovascular and critical care patient population
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Block scheduling options available: 6 days on/8 days off, or every weekend (Friday–Sunday)
- Floating required to ICU cluster, MS, and MS/Tele units (1:4 ratio when floating to MS/Tele)
- Highest acuity patients and specialty equipment are managed by core staff
- Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required
- Must be available to work 50% of holidays during the contract
- Active MO or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; CPI Blue Card preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, or 1 year of Level 1 CTICU experience
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Strong cardiovascular and critical care skills required, including ventilator management, arterial line management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Preferred skills include PA line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, TAVR experience, CVA/acute stroke management, and procedural sedation
- Ability to perform physical tasks including ambulating, reaching, and lifting objects weighing 20 lbs or more
- 2 professional references required
- Cerner experience preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are accepted
- A 9-month gap is required between assignments to return to this facility as a traveler
- Re-orientation is not required for travelers returning within 18 months
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration — no exceptions
- Position is based in a teaching hospital environment open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
- Role involves routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses; proper infection prevention and PPE protocols apply
