American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer for a Heart and Vascular Institute position requiring ARDMS or CCI-RCS certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience with both adult and pediatric populations.
Details- Work is performed in an outpatient clinic setting with 11 imaging rooms, with floating to the inpatient hospital as needed
- Serves both adult and pediatric cardiac patient populations
- Outpatient caseload averages 8 patients per day; inpatient caseload averages 6–8 patients per day
- Procedures include routine scans (complete/limited), 2D measurements, strain imaging, TEE, and stress echo
- Equipment includes Philips CV-x and 7C ultrasound systems
- EMR: Epic
- 8-hour variable shifts with weekend and night coverage rotation
- Call coverage required in the hospital 6 nights per month, with weekend call occurring every 6–7 weeks
- Holidays are considered part of the weekend and call rotation
- Floating from clinic to hospital is required
- Minimum of 2 years of cardiac sonography experience required
- Experience with both adult and pediatric patient populations required
- Current BLS required
- ARDMS or CCI-RCS certification required
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent required
- License required if applicable
- 2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Perform routine and advanced cardiac imaging including complete and limited scans, 2D measurements, strain imaging, TEE, and stress echo studies
- Supported by a team of 17 additional sonographers, 14 cardiologists, RNs, a patient service rep for check-ins, and a clinical informaticist
- Orientation is 5 days
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning to this facility as a traveler
- Time off requests require manager approval
- Black scrubs required
