Position Summary:
The Controller is responsible for managing the Accounting and IT Departments, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and implementing effective internal controls to protect company assets. This leadership role includes overseeing employee training, performance, and compliance with company policies while driving financial strategy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Oversee the preparation of all financial and accounting reports, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process and perform monthly variance analysis.
- Review and approve general ledger account transactions and reconciliations.
- Analyze product line performance to ensure accurate cost allocation.
- Prepare and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts for sales, EBITDA, and cash flow.
- Provide management with detailed financial reports to support informed business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP or international financial reporting standards.
Auditing and Compliance:
- Coordinate internal and external financial audits.
- Maintain and document a system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Implement controls to minimize financial and operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Code of Ethical Standards, policies, and procedures.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise, train, and mentor accounting and IT staff to ensure professional growth and high performance.
- Evaluate employee performance, document progress, and address any disciplinary issues in coordination with Human Resources.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional accountability.
Operational Support:
- Develop and maintain shop floor control systems, inventory standards, and cost analysis frameworks.
- Support cross-departmental initiatives to achieve organizational goals.
- Monitor and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform ad hoc tasks and projects as needed.
- Cross-train employees on procedures to ensure operational continuity.
- Travel as required for training, audits, or company initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required); MBA (preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of management experience in accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of auditing, internal controls, and cost accounting.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation (preferred).
Skills and Knowledge:
- Exceptional management and supervisory skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and tax preparation tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and customers at all levels.

- Indoor, clean, and climate-controlled setting.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 15 pounds.
