We are seeking a detail-driven Shipping & Receiving Team Lead to oversee outbound and inbound logistics while serving as the final quality checkpoint for all millwork leaving our shop. This role is critical to ensuring our work arrives complete, protected, and built to spec.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all shipping and receiving operations within the shop
- Perform final quality control inspections prior to shipment
- Verify all items match shop drawings, packing lists, and project specifications
- Oversee proper packaging, labeling, and protection of finished millwork
- Coordinate deliveries, schedules, and logistics with project managers and installers
- Receive incoming materials, verify quantities/conditions, and organize inventory
- Identify damage, defects, or missing components and resolve prior to shipment
- Maintain clean, organized staging and loading areas
- Train and hold team members accountable to quality and efficiency standards
- Act as the last line of defense before product leaves the shop
- Ensure finishes, edges, hardware prep, and assembly meet company standards
- Confirm all components are included and installation-ready
- Proactively catch and communicate issues before they impact the field
- 3–5 years experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or millwork environment
- Strong understanding of commercial millwork components and terminology
- Ability to read shop drawings and verify product against plans
- High attention to detail and accountability for quality
- Experience leading or supervising a team
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Prior experience in a millwork or cabinet shop
- Forklift experience
- Familiarity with inventory or ERP systems
