JOB TITLE: Sewer

SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Cutting/Sewing Supervisor, the sewer is primarily responsible for performing efficient operation of sewing machines in an assembly line setting, using single needle, double needle, double welt, boxing/border, and zipper machines. Sewers need to utilize the best production methods and produce the best quality products possible.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operating industrial sewing machine using a foot petal to sew parts, for both cushion and flatwork to meet production schedule
- Working with complex fabric, need to be very detailed and quality minded
- Uses both hands and arms while guiding, pushing, pulling & stretching fabric while sewing
- Uses hands to twist, turn & tighten knobs
- Cuts fabric with scissors while holding fabric
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to comprehend tickets/specs to ensure accuracy
- Responsible for being efficient and meeting quality standards
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years of sewing experience
