Summary
The general purpose of this position is to perform rail car movements as directed by supervision and/or a switch list.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Observes blue flag protection requirements and maintains derailer protection for work areas when a switch is complete.
- Performs user maintenance checks and fills out and submits appropriate checks list to the maintenance dept.
- Participates in nonconformance root cause investigations, corrective action and monitoring the adequacy of same in their area of responsibility and makes efforts for continuous improvement of quality and the elimination of nonconformances.
- Follow all AITX Safety rules, regulation and processes at all times
- Complies with company’s Quality program by following all in house quality processes and procedures and required AAR and FRA rules and regulations as well as any client specific procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications
- Prior Switching experience preferred but not required
- Heavy Machine Operating experience a plus
- Ability to work outdoor in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb and stoop for the entire shift
- The duties of this job require fully passing a pre-employment physical and drug screen
