In this role you will be directly responsible for signing up and qualifying customers for Business Line of Credit. You will be assisting customers with getting through the application, overcoming objections, troubleshooting technical issues, all with the end goal of getting customers approved for the Business Line of Credit.
This role requires heavy telephone sales, both inbound and outbound, but no cold calling. You will be primarily working leads who have begun an application or prospects calling inbound with questions. Success in this role is measured by hitting and exceeding quarterly goals and achieving daily metrics in a compliant and ethical manner.

What you'll be doing:
- Prospect new business through heavy outbound telephone sales to warm leads and interested prospects
- Diligently handle incoming calls — understand the customer's needs, overcome objections, handle rejection in stride and ultimately close the sale
- Guide prospects through the application to the point of qualification process for Business Line of Credit
- Work with customers and internal departments to troubleshoot potential issues
- Become an expert in the SMB landscape — you will understand the cash flow trends, common reasons customers apply, be familiar with terms & phrases used by SMBs, etc.
- Partner with other groups within the Business Line of Credit (BLOC) Sales organization including but not limited to other sales teams, Marketing, UX, support groups, Customer Service, etc.
- Manage a pipeline of customers using Salesforce
- Sell customers on the value of the American Express Business Line of Credit using ethical and compliant sales practices
Expectations:
- Meet daily and monthly KPI ask, including handle/make ~50 calls per day
- Meet and exceed quarterly goals
- Manage a book of business, including follow up with customers
- Operate in a compliant and ethical manner
- Contribute to the success of Lead Gen as a whole by being a thought leader
What we’re looking for in you:
- 2-3 years of sales experience selling to SMBs
- Past telephone sales experience
- History of consistently exceeding sales goals
- Experience selling software, platform and/or SaaS solutions to SMBs
- Has a desire to grow personally and professionally
- Has a desire to contribute to a rapidly growing department
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Above average computer skills
- Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
- Salesforce experience a plus
