General Purpose Of The Job
Reinsurance team partners with Brookfield Wealth Solutions operating subsidiaries to lead key internal and external reinsurance initiatives, execute reinsurance transactions, and evaluate strategic decisions. The Reinsurance team plays an active role in developing the company’s long-term strategic priorities and works closely with senior management to perform high-priority analyses. This individual will help model, communicate, and execute strategic projects. Based in New York with travel expected as needed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Act as the day-to-day contact for reinsurance group execution support, including; financial analysis and model development, market research, and the preparation of various presentations and documents including information memorandums, offering materials, management presentations, etc.
- Responsible for developing presentation materials in connection with reinsurance for topics such as market positioning, transaction pricing, and structure alternatives
- Assist in modeling and evaluating strategic reinsurance transactions, including conducting structure and transaction due diligence, and preparing memoranda for executive leadership
- Conduct industry research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities to grow and/or create efficiencies; evaluate and execute on these opportunities in conjunction with the firm’s operating subsidiaries
- Analyze and communicate the impact of potential reinsurance initiatives to senior leadership
- Supports agenda setting and materials preparation for reinsurance committees and board meetings, as needed
- Support the development of the overall operational approach for reinsurance
- Performs other related work as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics or actuarial science and a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, insurance, reinsurance, or actuarial function
- Experience covering financial services, particularly insurance and/or asset management is strongly preferred
- Experience conducting research and due diligence, evaluating transaction opportunities, performing financial and valuation analysis, and producing presentations summarizing findings
- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to operate independently and willingness to own and improve processes
- ASA designation, or the successful completion of preliminary actuarial exams is helpful
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including advanced financial modeling capabilities with extreme attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person with a broad set of stakeholders, including executive leadership, key external constituents
- Highly motivated, self-starter with an intellectual interest in life & annuity, property & casualty, reinsurance, and asset management industries
- Knowledge of statutory accounting and investment framework is beneficial
- Ability to think strategically and commercially about a broad set of industries
- Strong work ethic, with ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
- Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, SNL and AI tools
