The AVP, Actuary is responsible for leading critical asset adequacy analysis to ensure the long-term solvency of our organization. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, collaborate across departments, and manage a high-performing team all while working on complex, rewarding challenges in the annuity space.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Drive timely and accurate asset adequacy analysis for fixed indexed annuities and other annuity blocks, ensuring financial strength and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to keep processes cutting-edge.
- Partner with Corporate Actuarial (valuation, modeling, FP&A, assumptions) and teams like Investments, Product, and Pricing to share insights and shape business strategy.
- Manage and mentor a diverse team of actuaries, fostering growth, engagement, and excellence.
- Serve as the go-to resource for cash flow testing frameworks.
- Work closely with Investments to model and validate asset cash flows and market values using MG-ALFA.

Education And/Or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related field.
- 10 years of progressive actuarial experience, including asset adequacy analysis.
- Prior experience with MG-ALFA or similar actuarial software.
- Prior experience leading cashflow testing is preferred
- 4 years of leadership experience preferred.
- FSA, MAAA or ASA, MAAA required.
- Deep knowledge of financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and ASOPs.
- Proficiency in modeling fixed indexed annuities under various jurisdictions (e.g., Bermuda) and capital models.
- Strong understanding of reinsurance transactions and asset-liability modeling.
- Advanced analytical and statistical skills, including Excel modeling.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects and a team under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to present technical concepts to senior leadership and stakeholders.
