About the Role
The Shop Welder/Fabricator will play a crucial role in the production and assembly of metal components for various projects. This position requires a high level of precision and attention to detail to ensure that all welds and fabrications meet industry standards and client specifications. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and project managers to interpret blueprints and technical drawings, translating them into tangible products. Key Responsibilities
Perform welding and fabrication tasks on various metal materials according to project specifications
Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to create precise components
Conduct quality control checks on completed work to ensure compliance with industry standards
Maintain and operate welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and improve fabrication processes
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience as a welder or fabricator in a shop environment
Certification in welding processes such as MIG, TIG, or Stick welding
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in welding technology or a related field
Experience with CNC machinery and fabrication software
Knowledge of metallurgy and welding techniques
Skills
Proficiency in multiple welding techniques to execute high-quality welds on metal components
Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with strict specifications and quality standards
Effective problem-solving skills to address challenges during the fabrication process
Clear communication skills to collaborate with team members and understand project requirements
