Job Summary:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a business-minded, clinically knowledgeable professional possessing in-depth knowledge of behavioral health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment facilities and operations in a business-to-business environment.
The successful candidate will have proven expertise in behavioral health and substance use disorder as a Business Development Representative or in a clinical/counselor capacity. The top candidates will have pre-existing relevant business relationships across Washington State.
Knowledge of Medicaid referral, behavioral/SUD, and co-occurring disorder client progression and continuum of care is a bonus.
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid position - approximately 90% travel throughout Washington State and 10% in-office work (occasionally coming into our Tumwater HQ office)
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM, occasional weekends for events, conventions, or seminars for business development purposes
Salary:
$79,000 - 85,000, DOE
Duties and Deliverables
- Daily activities focused on business development with high-value prospects in the Medicaid referral community as needed to seek and win new referents.
- Frequent travel throughout Washington State to capture new business opportunities.
- Cultivating and developing current and future business opportunities to support ABHS’ increased presence in the Medicaid referral market.
- Accurate accounting and reporting of daily field work.
- Meet or exceed assigned goals.
- As a BDR, professional conduct and appearance are expected to promote ABHS as a positive, best-in-class healthcare provider and business partner.
- Participate in ABHS business meetings and functions as instructed.
Qualifications:
- Required two-year degree or equivalent experience; bachelor’s preferred.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder, or healthcare environment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in new client capture or business development.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in customer or new business relationship management and service.
- Ability to work independently, with a team in the office, or across multi-functional areas.
- Reliable transportation required for frequent statewide travel.
- Applicants with military service or extensive knowledge of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs are strongly encouraged to apply.
