ABHS is seeking a full time Substance Use Disorder Professionals at our Chehalis detox Facility in Chehalis, WA.

As a Counselor at ABHS, you’ll become a member of our multidisciplinary team who provide person-centered counseling for clients enrolled in a treatment program. ABHS counselors provide evidence-based counseling and education in a safe environment.

Trainees - please note that to qualify for this position you will need to be a graduate of the Addiction Studies program.

Pay:

  • SUDPT - $24.50/an hr.
  • SUDP - $31/an hr.

Schedule:

Thursday – Monday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Summary:

To provide assessments, case management, counseling/group processes, and educational services to American Behavioral Health Systems Residential Treatment Service clients.

Qualifications:

Must have a BA degree in Psychology, Social Work, or an AA degree and equivalent experience, and meet the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) requirements for a qualified Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) as per Chapter 18.205 RCW and WAC 246-811.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk. Employee must be able to lift 35 pounds. Must be able to use computer keyboard and view monitor for long periods of time.

Work Environment:

Moderate noise (business office with computers, printers, light traffic).

ESENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be

assigned.

1. Maintain a caseload with a minimum of twelve clients.

2. Provide educational presentations related to chemical dependency, behavioral health, Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, Rational Emotional Behavior Therapy (REBT), TC and any other treatment modalities as designated by ABHS.

3. Develop and maintain a community service network for outreach and case management.

4. Facilitate and structure group therapy and individual counseling sessions.

5. Administer intake, assessment, and treatment and discharge planning.

6. Monitor and facilitate client behavior/cognitive restructuring.

7. Coordinate clinical activities with treatment team and other staff.

8. Responsible for maintenance, security and completeness of active and inactive files, to include securing appropriate background information from other agencies and institutions, filing case material as it is received, recording interview summaries and activities of the client, and all other pertinent information.

9. ASAM evaluation and Service Plan Review of each client’s progress a minimum of once per week per client.

10. Responsible to keep all treatment files of clients in caseload current, complete, and in acceptable order according to agency standards and WAC requirements; keep all records confidential and secure.

11. Keep statistical data and other information as required by WAC and American Behavioral Health Systems.

12. Attend all clinical staff meetings and provide formal clinical presentations as needed.

13. Must be able to take written and/or verbal orders.

14. Have a working knowledge of all inpatient provider contracts, provider agreements, and inpatient policies and procedures.

15. Responsible for maintaining current continuing education and state licensing/registration requirements as per Chapter 18.205 RCW and WAC 246-12-170 and for pursing continuing education and certification in Choice Theory/Reality Therapy training/TC and other treatment modalities as designated by ABHS.

16. Performs other related duties as assigned.

17. Responds to the directives of the supervisor and management staff in a professional and cooperative manner.

18. Assures that all ABHS’ clients’ needs are met with dignity and respect and in a timely manner.

19. Makes decisions based on the welfare of the client, the success of the team, and the quality and integrity of the program.

20. Understands and facilitates federal confidentiality laws, 42 CFR, and protects client confidentiality/anonymity, and assures no information is shared without proper authorization.

21. Will report any potential PREA violation to the PREA Coordinator or the Appointing Authority upon discovery
