Concrete Finisher, Form Setter and Laborer

Overview

American Asphalt Paving Co., a local road and site construction company located in Shavertown, PA, is seeking experienced FINISHERS, FORMSETTERS, and LABORERS for their CONCRETE CREWS for the 2026 construction season.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Successful candidates will be part of the concrete crew performing duties as finisher, form setter, or concrete laborer based on their skills and experience.
• Desire candidates with knowledge of concrete finishing, and the ability to read blueprint plans and specifications.
• The form setter will build and set temporary, sturdy forms that hold poured concrete in place until it hardens. Ensures the structures are precise, level, and aligned for projects like sidewalks, walkways, roads, or curbing.
• The concrete finisher will pour, smooth and finish concrete, level the concrete to the proper specifications while adjusting for elevation or depth to ensure a high-quality, durable finish.
• The form setter/finisher will spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends and/or overtime as needed.
• Preference will be given to candidates with FRMCA Exterior Flatwork Finisher Certification and/or NECEPT Concrete Field Testing Technician certification.
• Ability to operate the Power Curber a plus.
• Perform all work according to OSHA and American Asphalt Safety Policies.
• The positions require lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for long periods of time, and working outdoors in varying conditions.
• Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test, and be willing to submit to, and pass, random drug/alcohol testing thereafter.
