Summary of duties and responsibilities
The scope of the Systems Tech role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing a range of security systems, including fire alarms, video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems. This role involves performing system tests and inspections, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, programming systems, and conducting site surveys. Technicians are also tasked with completing electronic work orders and reports, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. Additionally, they provide customer support, instruct clients on system operations, and participate in on-call rotations as required
Duties include but are not limited to the following: coordinates projects and activities for sales and marketing services
- Set up and program fire alarms, intrusion alarms, access control, and video surveillance systems for residential and commercial clients.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain system components to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety codes.
- Evaluate job sites, perform inspections, and test systems to verify proper installation and code adherence.
- Complete electronic work orders, system documentation, and compliance reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Communicate with clients to explain system features, provide usage training, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Experience:
- 1 to 2 years of experience in installing, testing, inspecting, and repairing security systems, including fire alarms, video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
- Other job duties as assigned
Licenses Required:
• Must have a valid CT C-6 license or higher. Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance and or/Massachusetts security certificate of clearance. Valid Driver's License required.
Education requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required; completion of a vocational, technical, or licensing training program is preferred.
Physical Activities/ Requirements
- Ability to use equipment to perform the job: Ladder, company vehicle, hand tools, (I.E. screwdriver, drill, meters, telephone headset, soldering iron, pipe bender, hilti gun etc.) telephone, lift, and adding machine.
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

The expected salary range for this position is [$30.75 – $39.37] per hour. The compensation determination for each candidate is dependent on experience, skills, qualifications, education, training as well as internal equity. We are committed to pay equity and transparency in our hiring practices.
