Assignment Overview
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Special Education School Aides to support students with special needs in the Burlington, Wisconsin. This position provides instructional, behavioral, and personal support to students in elementary and middle school settings under the supervision of special education staff, teachers, and school administrators.
The School Aide will work directly with students who have behavioral and learning needs, assisting in small group and classroom environments to promote academic success, positive behavior, and social development. Depending on student needs, the aide may also provide basic personal care, mobility assistance, and therapeutic support as directed by school personnel and healthcare professionals.
Position Details

- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Contract Length: 38 Weeks
- Start Date: September 1, 2026
- Pay rate: $20 /hr based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students with special education and behavioral support needs in the classroom.
- Work one-on-one or with small groups of students to reinforce instruction and classroom expectations.
- Support behavior management plans and encourage positive student interactions.
- Assist with daily activities, mobility support, and personal care when required.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to support student success.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Comply with all district, state, and federal educational requirements and professional standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience working with children, especially those with special needs, preferred.
- Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
- Current CPR certification, health certificate, and TB screening if required.
- Candidates without a DPI license must be willing to obtain one (license reimbursement available).
