Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher delivers high-quality instructional services to students in kindergarten through grade 12. Position Overview
Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher delivers high-quality instructional services to students in kindergarten through grade 12. This role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff to design and implement individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutoring, and consultation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide specialized instruction in classroom and/or resource settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Support inclusive learning environments
- Deliver services in both self-contained and resource classroom models
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certification (required per state/district regulations)
- Preferred certifications:
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Education Teaching
- LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist) endorsement preferred
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)
- Compliance with professional standards and all federal/state/local requirements
- CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB screening / health clearance (as required)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Total Openings: 14
- Schedule: 37.5 hours/week
- Contract Length: 9 months
- Start Date: August 17, 2026
- Pay Rate: $50/hour (Local)
